PROTEUS Kicks off Annual Campaign
in the Walk to D'Feet ALS

Annapolis Junction, MD, July 31, 2008 - PROTEUS Technologies is once again preparing to proudly sponsor the 2008 Walk to D’Feet ALS event to raise money to help find a cure for ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. The Greater Baltimore Area ALS Walk will kick off on Saturday, September 27th at 10AM at Druid Hill Park in Baltimore. This marks PROTEUS’ third year as a corporate sponsor and a participating team walking to support those affected by ALS and to spread awareness of this debilitating disease. PROTEUS encourages all employees and their families and friends to come out and participate in the ALS walk.

Last year the PROTEUS team came together with an impressive 91% participation, and was honored with two of the coveted Golden Shoe Awards. Recognition for PROTEUS included top fundraising team and the team with the most registered participants. The PROTEUS team raised over $15,000, which surpassed their corporate fundraising goal. PROTEUS has its sights set higher this year as they strive for a 20% higher fundraising goal. PROTEUS’ Associate HR Director and Walk Captain, Stephanie Moss, reflects on this year’s walk, “With the incredible support of and involvement of our staff and their families and friends, we know we can help make a positive impact for the ALS patients and their families.”

Did you know? ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease) is a fatal, neuromuscular disease, which attacks the motor neurons, making even the simplest movements of walking, speaking and gesturing impossible. Ultimately the body becomes paralyzed, yet through it all, the mind remains unaffected. The staff of the ALS Association offers many crucial patient service programs that are free to patients and families, as well as funding cutting-edge research worldwide. Every ninety minutes someone is diagnosed with ALS.
