Community Outreach

Giving back to the community is one way that PROTEUS demonstrates good corporate citizenship. PROTEUS contributes to organizations and individuals that are making a difference in people’s lives — and making communities stronger.

"We make a living by what we get,
but we make a life by what we give."

— Winston Churchill

Proud of its employees for their high rate of volunteerism in corporate giving, the company believes employee participation fosters leadership and team spirit. Support and community involvement focuses on the areas where the company can make unique and positive contributions. These areas include improving the health of people with chronic diseases, educating future generations of engineering innovators, and enhancing the communities where they live and work. In fact, as one of the sponsors of the annual Maryland Walk to Defeat ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease), over 90% of PROTEUS staff actively participate each year, with contributions of over $15,000 each in 2007 and 2008 for the DC/MD/VA ALS Association Chapter. PROTEUS' community outreach programs also include:
  • Pediatric cancer research
  • Support for the Annapolis Wellness House for cancer patients and their families
  • Computer science scholarships for university students
  • Volunteerism and support to the Annapolis Boys & Girls Club
  • Treats for Troops
  • Animal welfare programs
  • The Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA)
  • Local and world little league baseball programs
