PROTEUS and East Stroudsburg University Grow Partnership
Annapolis Junction, MD — December 24, 2009

PROTEUS announced today the expansion of its partnership with East Stroudsburg University's (ESU) Computer Science & Security Department, a National Security Agency (NSA) "Center of Excellence in Information Assurance". PROTEUS will partner with ESU on Cyber Security activities. Collaboration will include Cyber topics such as video and still photography stenography and non-negative matrix factorization algorithms for the usage of computer forensics and email text gleaning. PROTEUS also invested in the University by providing a significant contribution to the recently constructed Hoeffner Science and Technology Center, and named the building's 3rd floor 'Computer Science Interaction Zone'. East Stroudsburg University President, Dr. Robert J. Dillman, thanked PROTEUS for its partnership and support, "I want to express my sincere appreciation for your wonderful gift to the Science and Technology Center. It is because of alumni like you that we are able to move this university to the next level. We want to be the very best at what we engage in as a university, and your help and support will aid us in our journey".

With several staff members, including Executive Vice President, Dr. Charles T. Taylor as alum of ESU, the company has supported the University in various capacities over the years, including contributions to the Dr. Richard G. Prince Memorial Scholarship Fund for computer science students. According to Dr. Taylor, "We are excited about the opportunity to partner with ESU on emerging Cyber Security initiatives, we believe that scientific partnerships between industry and academia are needed not only to educate our next generation of engineers in real world applications, but also to fuel innovation in solving current and future cyber engineering challenges to keep our Nation secure".

East Stroudsburg University is one of the fourteen institutions in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. Founded in 1893 as a Normal School to prepare teachers. The institution changed its name in 1927 to East Stroudsburg State Teachers College and again in 1960 to East Stroudsburg State College, reflecting the addition of liberal arts and science curriculums. In 1983, the school achieved university status.

The 61 campus buildings are located on 213 acres in the East Stroudsburg community. In addition to the academic facilities, nine residence halls, housing for 2,200 students, and a 1,000-seat dining hall are located on campus. The Student Activity Association, Inc., owns Stony Acres, a 119-acre off-campus student recreation area near Marshalls Creek, Pa, that includes a lodge and a small lake.
