Debbie P. Mounts
Director, Boston Programs

Ms. Debbie Mounts joined PROTEUS in 2009 as the Director of Boston Programs. In this role, she is providing strategic leadership and vision, managing business operations, and planning for the smart growth of the Boston office. Day-to-day, Debbie oversees PROTEUS software and systems engineering initiatives in support of both Maryland-based and Boston-based clients.

Debbie has over 23 years of experience in the design and development of software systems, with an emphasis on Oracle-based applications. She has led software engineering teams for 20 years and brings to PROTEUS strong skills in strategic planning, project management, software lifecycle management, and business analysis.

Prior to joining PROTEUS, Debbie worked for 16 years at Wyeth in Cambridge, MA where she led teams of both software engineers and Oracle DBAs. During her last 10 years at Wyeth, Debbie was the Associate Director of Bioinformatics Systems Development. In this role, she and her staff were responsible for managing over 40+ Oracle instances and for delivering integrated suites of systems that provided key scientific decision makers with insight into critical data views for real-time decision making. Debbie's expertise in database design solutions for large, complex databases and in strategies for integrating both vendor and in-house developed systems into cohesive end-user tools facilitated the success of these projects. In addition, Debbie was responsible for setting strategic software infrastructure direction across the department and managing the resulting software portfolio, and for continually assessing internal software development procedures to ensure that they were flexible, auditable, and would accommodate projects of any scale and complexity. Prior to joining Wyeth, Debbie worked as a software manager for Allied Signal.

Debbie earned both a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from East Stroudsburg University, and holds a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Science from Russell Sage College. Debbie has recently completed her Java Programmer certification, and continues to enjoy developing software today.

Debbie enjoys her busy life with her family, including her husband and 5 children, ages 2 (twins) through 20, 3 dogs, and 6 cats! When she has spare time, she enjoys gardening, fantasy NASCAR, and cheering for her favorite Boston sports teams.
